60 years before Mr. Mukul Dey did research for five years on terracotta temples. He covered 25 temples all across Bengal, he would have take some 5000 shots. At present his grandsons are dedicated in building an archive for the same. Here is the link of the website - http://www.chitralekha.org/articles/mukul-dey/ajod
I CAN IMMEDIATELY THINK OF MULUTI.
YOU SHOULD GO FROM RAMPURHAT .THE ACTUAL VILLAGE FALLS IN JHARKHAND.
FLICKR HAS A RECENT ENTRY ON MULUTI OR MALUTI ,HE HAS GIVEN HISTORY AND THE PERSON WHO IS TAKING CARE OF THE TEMPLES.
this is good but two finest temples of Bengal are missing & that should be included.
One is temple of Guptipara in Hoogly.I had visited it twice & written in The Asian Age & The Hindustan Times.
Another one is at Ilambazar - Birbhum. You might have seen a write up on that in The Telegraph recently.
There is a book called Bengal - sight & site. You must collect that for more info in this context.
A temple called Anandamoye in Sukhoria-Hoogly is also amazing.
Will talk more on this when we meet.
